Authorities said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash.
Sometime in the morning, Briggs was seen speeding dangerously near El Camino Avenue and El Tonas Way, and ended up departing the road, striking two power poles, a tree, a brick wall, and finally a home. All occupants of the vehicle were injured, including Briggs, a 7-year-old girl, who both sustained serious injuries, and a 14-year-old boy was less seriously injured, but Briggs eventually died of his injuries.  How can a lawyer help with an auto accident claim? First, having a lawyer on your side levels the playing field. The person who caused the accident is required to immediately turn the case over to his or her insurance company. The insurance company uses adjusters and lawyers who are specifically trained to deny or reduce your claim. This may include denying compensation to family members who are entitled to receive benefits for loss of companionship. Learn more here about what a lawyer does in auto accident cases.
