Three people are dead Sunday and one person is suffering major injuries after an early-morning crash near Interstate Highway 80 in Fairfield, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities say two people from the truck were pronounced dead at the scene. A third person was later pronounced dead at a hospital, while a fourth person suffered major injuries.
"She loved her students and supported them in every way a teacher could," the district said in a statement on their Facebook page. "She was excellent in her work and delightful as a person, and her loss will be felt deeply by all who had the chance to know her."
“She was so alive and to lose her just hurts so badly,” Dixon Unified Superintendent Brian Dolan said. “I am her boss and I have 350 employees but she was one that stood out.”
The deceased were identified as Chad Romaine, 29, of Vacaville, Regina Dixon, 31 of Fairfield and Katie Anderson, 31, of Jackson Md.
Two people are dead after they were ejected from a vehicle that left the road on westbound Interstate 80 and rolled over, the accident happened at 12:30 a.m. near the Manuel Campos Parkway. There were two other passengers in the vehicle that are in critical condition.
