Orangevale Teen Suspected Of DUI Crashes Truck Into Car, Injuring3

Investigators say the teen was driving northbound in a Toyota pickup truck when he for some reason lost control, crashing head-on into a Hyundai sedan. A 17-year-old is under arrest and three other people are recovering after a head-on crash. One woman suffered a broken arm and lacerations to her face. CHP says the teen was checked out found to have been on prescription medications. The Hyundai'€™s driver and two passengers '€“ all women in their early 20s '€“ were taken to the hospital.

Despite the drug factor, CHP Officer Pat Talley says Hazel Avenue is a problem spot for speeders and accidents. The responding officer says the teen was disoriented and arrested him for a DUI. His passenger was released. They know those kids, and they don't do that," said a parent of a friend of the teen driver. Saturday morning, CHP says, the teen drifted off into oncoming traffic. California Highway Patrol Officers say it happened after a teenager under the influence of drugs lost control of his car.
