Update: Three bodies involved in Folsom Lake boat accident identified

Late Saturday, El Dorado County officials confirmed that the bodies of the two adults recovered Saturday afternoon are Toby Strauch, 54, and Gerald Jacobs, 53. Strauch and Jacobs’ bodies were found shortly before 1 p.m. Saturday on the south fork side of the lake.

Divers and rescue personnel from several law enforcement agencies are at the scene, along with a California Highway Patrol helicopter specially equipped for search-and-rescue operations, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said via Twitter.

Initial reports of the boating accident came in at 1:48 p.m. A command post has been established at the boat launch in Granite Bay, Waters said. Parks rangers are leading the effort, along with deputies from the Placer and El Dorado county sheriff’s offices.
