Babysitter and 2 children, ages 2 and 4, struck by car near Taylor Elementary School in Sacramento, California
Babysitter, 2 Children Struck In ‘Dangerous’ Stockton Intersection
A babysitter and the two children she walked with were all struck by a car in what parents say is a dangerous intersection near an elementary school and a preschool.
Cars routinely rolled through stop signs and ignored them altogether, even when small children were in the crosswalk.
“The cars through here don’t stop,” said parent Aletha Huffstutler.
She’s volunteered as a crosswalk crossing guard every morning for seven years straight.
“I want the kids to cross safely when they’re going to school,” she said.
She was just down the street from Taylor Elementary School at another intersection when Stockton Police say a 2-year-old, a 4-year-old and their babysitter were hit crossing the street. They were rushed to the hospital as a precaution.
