Police have arrested the person they believe caused a four car crash that left two people dead.
Two people died in a 4-vehicle pileup that was caused by a hit-and-run crash Thursday night.
The crash happened at 7:45 p.m. at the intersection of West Lane and Frontage Road in Stockton.
Stockton police said a white Honda SUV was going northbound on West Lane when it ran a red light and crashed into an Acura. The Acura then crashed into two other cars driving near the intersection. It is unclear what direction the cars were traveling when the crash happened.
Sokhunthear Hin, 18, and Ritche Rasmee 20, who were inside the Acura, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The people inside the other cars did not have to be transported to hospitals.
Investigators said the people inside the Honda SUV got out and ran away from the scene. One of them, identified by a Stockton police officer as 23-year-old Brittney Tamayo, was later caught and arrested. Police continue to look for the second suspect, only identified as a black man.
