TRUCKEE (CBS13) — A deadly accident is causing major delays on westbound Interstate 80 west of Castle Peak, the California Highway Patrol said on Thursday. Officers say a driver lost control of their vehicle and hit three Caltrans vehicles in a median in a work zone. The CHP is warning drivers to expect a 9- to 10-hour closure stretching past midnight on Friday as they investigate the scene. Tractor trailers heading westbound are being sent back to Reno to wait for the road to reopen. The driver died in the accident.
