Two young people are dead and three other high school students remain seriously hurt after they were involved in a rollover crash in Vacaville this weekend. All five teens were ejected when a truck lost control and rolled over in a field on Pleasant Valley Road near Chester Way around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol. Speed and alcohol likely contributed to the crash, police said. The students attend Vacaville High School. Police said they were not wearing seat belts as they headed back from Lake Berryessa. Friends and family identified the two victims who died as Gilbert Guzman, 20, and Christie Brinsley, 16, on Monday. The truck belonged to Guzman, a graduate of Will C. Wood High School. It is not clear if he was behind the wheel at the time of the crash. Friends said it was just a few weeks ago that Guzman posted a picture on Instagram that he had been stopped for not wearing a seat belt. Two parents came to the crash site to pick up shoes and other belongings that were scattered in an open field. One of their daughters was killed and the other is in critical condition. A candlelight vigil is set for Tuesday. Grief counselors were expected to be at Vacaville High School on Monday.   How can a lawyer help with an auto accident claim? First, having a lawyer on your side levels the playing field.  The person who caused the accident is required to immediately turn the case over to his or her insurance company.  The insurance company uses adjusters and lawyers who are specifically trained to deny or reduce your claim.  This may include denying compensation to family members who are entitled to receive benefits for loss of companionship.
