The crash occurred about 2:45 a.m. The car hit the curb, continued on, then hit a tree and ended up on the sidewalk, police said.
The male passenger crawled out of the wreckage but firefighters had to cut and pry open parts of the car to free the driver. Paramedics took both of them to a trauma center.
