Authorities responding to a vehicle fire off an east Chula Vista street Sunday evening discovered two people dead inside.
Chula Vista Police were called to the 900 block of Olympic Parkway just before 9 p.m. in response to a crash.

Two people died after a vehicle crashed and ignited in flames in the Otay Ranch neighborhood of Chula Vista, police said Monday.
The crash happened at about 10 p.m. Sunday just west of Otay Lakes and the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center on Olympic Parkway.
Two people killed in fiery, high-speed crash
Just before 10 p.m., firefighters were called about the collision on Olympic Parkway near Heritage Road on the east side of the city, according to fire department dispatch logs. A witness told police one of the cars was speeding and smashed into another vehicle, sending one of the cars flying off the road.
