Arizona Man Dies in I-8 Hit-and-Run Crash: CHP
A passerby found the man on eastbound I-8 just west of Crestwood Road at approximately 10:10 p.m. and called 911. The man’s car was out of gas and parked nearby.
The man told CHP officers he had been struck by an unknown vehicle while walking on along the shoulder. Investigators believe the man was trying to reach the Golden Acorn Casino to purchase fuel.

The 45-year-old man, identified as Jaime Cardiel, was trying to reach the Golden Acorn Casino after his vehicle ran out of gas, CHP Officer Brian Pennings said.
