Woman, child struck in hit-and-run

Witnesses described the vehicle as a black minivan, possibly with major damage to the front. They said the male driver briefly stopped, then fled.

"He said 'are you on the phone with police?' and I said 'yes' and then he was like 'OK, I'm on hold.' And then he hung up his phone and turned around and left," Arroyo said.
At about 6:15pm a woman and her daughter were struck by what has been described as a black minivan, and while the driver initially stopped and even spoke to a witness about calling the police, they fled the scene in the end. Fortunately, both victims suffered only minor injuries, but both were still taken to hospitals.
