SUV hits, kills pedestrian in Little Italy, drives away

Tammie Ransom, who witnessed the crash, told 10News, "It seems like he didn't care. He didn't pause or stop to see if anybody was OK. He just completely hit him and that was it. He flipped over and he seemed lifeless. It didn't seem like he was going to make it."

Garold Allen Crosbie, 50, was walking north on Pacific Highway at Laurel Street at about 11:20 p.m. Thursday when a westbound SUV ran a red light and struck him while he was still in the crosswalk, the medical examiner's office said.

David Dominguez is suspected of being behind the wheel of a speeding white SUV that struck 50-year-old Garold Crosbie as he crossed Pacific Highway at West Laurel Street at about 11:20 p.m. last Thursday, according to San Diego police. 

Man accused in fatal hit-and-run near Little Italy pleads not guilty

Defense attorney Brian White told Judge Joan Weber that Dominguez was "essentially a good kid" who has no criminal record.

The defendant faces 15 years in prison if convicted.
