Fatal Highway Collision in Concord Involving Motorcyclist

One person was killed in a crash involving a car and a motorcycle off of state Highway 4 in Concord Thursday morning, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The collision happened just before 7 a.m. near the intersection of Willow Pass and Avila roads, according to the CHP.

The motorcyclist is believed to have been the person killed in the crash, CHP Officer Kevin Bartlett said. The name of the victim was not yet being released.

An off-duty Oakland police officer, fire and medical crews responded to the scene, Bartlett said.

Information about what caused the crash was not immediately available and the incident is under investigation, according to the CHP.
