Fatal Big Rig Wreck Backs Up Traffic on Highway 242 in Concord
Traffic is backing up in both directions on state Highway 242 in Concord Tuesday night due to a big rig that overturned after striking the center divide, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Other vehicles were struck by debris, but there were no other confirmed injuries as of 10:50 p.m., he said.
A semi-truck was headed north on Highway 242 at about 8:13 p.m. when it collided with the center divided of the highway and flipped over near the Olivera Road overpass. The man inside the truck was severely injured and eventually pronounced dead. The crashing truck sent debris flying and some cars were hit, though no other injuries have been reported.
