Concord: 4-car crash on Kirker Pass Road slows commute

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. on Kirker Pass Road just north of Hess Road. According to the CHP, the crash happened in the northbound direction and ambulances were dispatched to the scene. The wreck blocked both lanes, and caused traffic to back up to two miles to Buchanan Road in Pittsburg. CONCORD -- Four cars were involved in a crash on a key road connecting east and central Contra Costa County, backing up traffic for two miles and affecting the Thursday morning commute, the California Highway Patrol said. It was not known immediately how many people may have been injured or the extent of the injuries.
