Northbound lanes of Crow Canyon Road were closed at Indian Rice Road for several hours while police investigated the incident.

A bicyclist died from his injuries after getting into an accident with a car in Danville Tuesday afternoon.

CYCLIST KILLED IN DANVILLE COLLISION WAS SCHOOL DISTRICT EMPLOYEE

A bicyclist who died Tuesday in Danville headed the facilities department for the San Mateo-Foster City School District, school officials said Wednesday.

A 55-year-old man identified as George Kaufer from Danville was riding his bicycle near the intersection of Crow Canyon Road and Tassajara Ranch Drive at about 4:39 p.m. when he was struck by a northbound car on Crow Canyon Road. He was taken to the hospital via helicopter, but was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
