Fremont: Hit-and-run victim improves, driver still loose

Saturday morning at the intersection of Paseo Padre Parkway and Fremont Boulevard. The 29-year-old Fremont resident suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash, which happened about 1 a.m. Both men were down on Fremont Boulevard when police were called to the scene. The 42-year-old man with him, also a Fremont resident, remained in critical condition at a trauma center Sunday morning with life-threatening injuries. FREMONT -- The condition of one of two men injured when they were struck by a hit-and-run driver improved and that man is now expected to survive, police said Sunday.
