Livermore police say suspect in deadly accident that killed a mom and baby had been drinking at a festival

A 40-year-old mother and her 14-month-old daughter who were from Seaside both died in the car crash. Their names are unknown at this time. Two young boys, ages 6 and 7, were taken to the hospital in stable condition after being injured during the accident.

Livermore man accused of killing mother, child in DUI crash appears for court hearing

The first part of a preliminary hearing was held Friday in the Pleasanton courthouse for Brian Jones, 36, who is accused of fatally hitting Esperanza Morales-Rodriguez, 46, and her 14-month-old daughter Yulidia Perez-Morales on May 2 on the 900 block of Murietta Boulevard in his brand-new Corvette.

On Saturday a 35-year-old man who crashed his vehicle into an apartment in Livermore had been allegedly attending a wine festival prior to the crash. Brian Jones of Livermore is believed to have been drinking alcohol before crashing into a residential building in the 900 block of Murrieta Boulevard just before 7 p.m.  His test results show that Jones had a blood-alcohol content of at least 0.13%. The legal limit is 0.08%. A 40-year-old mother and her 14-month-old daughter who were from Seaside both died in the car crash. Their names are unknown at this time. Two young boys, ages 6 and 7, were taken to the hospital in stable condition after being injured during the accident.
