Pilot killed as small plane crashes in N. California

The newspaper reports that Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor said that the crash occurred shortly after the pilot reported "control problems" upon departing from the municipal airport.

Pilot Killed In Livermore Plane Crash Identified As Pleasanton Man

A pilot killed in a plane crash Monday night north of Livermore in unincorporated Alameda County has been identified as 75-year-old Michael Seal, of Pleasanton, according to the Alameda County coroner’s bureau. 

The pilot of a Piper PA-22 was killed in a crash in northern California in the Livermore area at 9 p.m. Monday. The cause of the crash is under investigation. The crash sparked a small brush fire.
