Oakland: Car fleeing U.S. Marshals crashes, 5 injured

A car trying to flee U.S. Marshals collided with a paratransit van in East Oakland Monday morning, injuring at least five people, including 4-year-old child in the suspects' vehicle, authorities said.

U.S. Marshals were conducting surveillance in an unmarked vehicle in East Oakland when a black Buick sedan attempted to avoid surveillance. However, the suspect car collided with the marshal's vehicle and then kept going. The Buick then collided with a paratransit van on 23rd avenue. The driver of the Buick, along with a male passenger and a four-year-old child were all taken to the hospital. The driver of the van and one of the passengers were also transported to the hospital. None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

What rights and options do injured people have after an auto accident in San Francisco, or anywhere in the Bay Area?

After a car crash, injured people need to learn about their rights before they speak with an insurance adjuster. Since insurance companies have huge resources to use to fight any personal injury claim, it is important to get information and support from a San Francisco attorney, to learn about options and find the best way to move forward.
