San Jose pedestrian hit and killed by vehicle in early morning freeway crash

The CHP says the driver did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

CHP Says Driver Not Drunk In Early-Morning Collision That Killed Pedestrian On Hwy 101 In San Jose

The collision occurred around 3:30 a.m. north of Interstate Highway 280, and the CHP issued a Sig-alert at 4:51 a.m. as crews worked to clear the scene.
A pedestrian was hit and killed by a Honda Civic on Highway 101 in San Jose early Saturday morning at around 3:30 a.m. The Honda Civic was heading south at freeway speed when it struck the pedestrian, who was attempting to cross the freeway. It is not known why the pedestrian was walking on the road so late at night. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger in the Honda sustained minor injuries.
