1 Dead, 2 Hurt When Car Crashes Into Tree In South SanJose

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) — One person died and two others were injured when the vehicle their vehicle struck a tree in South San Jose Monday morning. When officers arrived, officers found a dark-colored pick up truck with major damage, police said. Around 3:55 a.m., officers responded to a crash happening near Almaden Expressway and Redmond Avenue, according to police. After conducting a preliminary investigation, officers determined the truck left the roadway and struck a tree. The southbound lanes of Almaden Expressway between Redmond and Camden avenues are closed at this time.

SAN JOSE -- One person was killed Monday morning and two others were injured when a truck veered off the roadway near Almaden Expressway and Redmond Avenue and crashed into a tree, according to San Jose police. When officers arrived they found the dark two people trapped inside the dark-colored truck, Morales said. The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are still under investigation, Morales said. Firefighters removed both people from the truck, but one of them was pronounced deceased a short time later. The crash was reported at about 3:55 a.m., according to Officer Albert Morales.

Crews extricated two people trapped inside the dark-colored truck: Dominguez and another adult male passenger. SAN JOSE --The woman who was killed early Monday morning when a pickup truck veered off Almaden Expressway and crashed into a tree has been identified as 40-year-old Danela Dominguez, according to the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office. Her death marked the city's 47th traffic fatality of the year, a tally that has not been reached since 1999.

By the time firefighters and emergency personnel arrived at the site, an adult male passenger had climbed out of the wreck. Crews extricated two people trapped inside the dark-colored truck: the adult female driver and another adult male passenger. The driver was pronounced dead a short time later. Her identity was not immediately released pending notification of her relatives; she was described by police as being in her late-30s to early-40s.
