San Jose: Two men, 18, killed in suspected DUI crash.

SAN JOSE -- Two 18-year-old men were killed late Thursday night in a suspected DUI crash on Alum Rock Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call the CHP, San Jose area office at 408-467-5400. At about 10:38 p.m., the Camry drifted into the eastbound lane and crashed into a 2000 Toyota Tundra, driven by a 57-year-old San Jose man. Two juvenile female passengers riding inside the Camry got out of the car and fled the scene, according to the CHP. The two men inside the Camry died at the scene. The CHP did not release the names of the men, who are from San Francisco and Woodbridge, VA. The 18-year-old man from San Francisco was driving a 2001 Toyota Camry westbound on Alum Rock, east of Kirk Avenue, with three passengers inside.

The driver, from San Francisco, and an 18-year male passenger, from Woodbridge, Va., were declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the Tundra, identified as 57-year-old Steve Hibdon, of San Jose, suffered major injuries in the crash and was transported to the hospital. The female passengers suffered minor injuries in the crash. Following the crash, two of the passengers in the Camry, 15 and 14-year-old females from San Jose, fled the scene with an unknown party, officers said.

The California Highway Patrol this morning is investigating a Thursday night fatal crash near San Jose that killed two 18-year-olds.The crash occurred at 10:38 p.m. on Alum Rock Avenue at Kirk Avenue, according to the CHP.Officers said an 18-year-old male was driving a 2001 Toyota Camry with three passengers, 18, 15 and 14 years old, west on Alum Rock Avenue east of Kirk Avenue when the Camry drifted into the eastbound lane and crashed head-on into a 2000 Toyota Tundra traveling in the opposite direction.The driver, from San Francisco, and an 18-year male passenger, from Woodbridge, Va., were declared deceased at the scene.Following the crash, two of the passengers in the Camry, 15 and 14-year-old females from San Jose, fled the scene with an unknown party, officers said.The female passengers suffered minor injuries in the crash.The driver of the Tundra, identified as 57-year-old Steve Hibdon, of San Jose, suffered major injuries in the crash and was transported to the hospital.The names of the deceased 18-year-olds have not been released.Driving under the influence is being investigated as the cause of the crash, according to the CHP.Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the CHP at (408) 467-5400.

Men Killed in Suspected Alum Rock DUI Crash Are Identified

Two men killed in a suspected drunk driving collision just outside of San Jose late Thursday night were identified today as 18-year-old San Jose residents Jorge Cuellar Guevara and Manuel Guevara Cartagena, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office.
