Pedestrian struck, killed on Highway 280 connector ramp in San Jose

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday night on the southbound Interstate Highway 280 connector ramp to southbound U.S. Highway 101 in San Jose.The pedestrian was struck by a 1999 Honda and was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol.The collision was first reported at 8:19 p.m.The victim is a 65-year-old man, according to the CHP. His identity has not been released.Alcohol does not appear to have played a factor in the collision, according to the CHP.The incident closed two lanes of the connector for about two hours.The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the collision.
