An Amtrak train hit and killed a man this morning in San Jose, a spokesman for Union Pacific Railroad said.

Julius Cesar Canales, 35, was reportedly walking near the tracks near Monterey Road and Skyway Drive, not far from Valley Christian High School, around 10:20 a.m. when he was hit by a southbound Coast Starlight train that had recently departed from downtown San Jose.
