Woman In Bad Shape After Car Slams Into Her San LeandroHome

SAN LEANDRO (CBS SF) — A 25-year-old woman who was critically injured when a speeding car rammed into her home in San Leandro on Monday night remains “in bad shape” Wednesday, a police spokesman said. Although the woman’s injuries aren’t considered life-threatening, she’s undergoing surgery Wednesday for a broken back and multiple internal injuries and her recovery could be lengthy, San Leandro police spokesman Lt. Police said the woman was asleep in the garage of her home near Farnsworth and Purdue streets in San Leandro’s Washington Manor district at about 10:30 p.m. Monday when an Acura SUV drove into a garage wall of the single-family home, penetrating completely inside the garage. The woman was pinned under the vehicle and had to be extricated before she could be taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.
