Motorcyclists, 17 and 20, killed during Sonoma County races

Medical staff were on scene “within seconds” of the crashes, AMA said in the statement. Paramedics transported the riders to the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where they were pronounced dead. Go Fund Me pages have been set up for the families of Kainz and McGrane.

“I don’t know of this happening in the living memory of our sport,” said Michael Lock of AMA, referencing the two deaths. “We’re all in complete shock.”

So far, no law enforcement agency is investigating the crashes or track conditions for the one-day professional dirt track bike event, which drew about 60 riders, who are paid through sponsorships and earn winnings for top finishes.
