George Evankovich, 72, seriously injured in motorcycle crash on Valley Ford Road in Sonoma County, California
Santa Rosa rider injured in west county motorcycle crash
The man, George Evankovich, was riding eastbound on Valley Ford Road on a 2003 Harley-Davidson behind a pickup towing the trailer, Sloat said.
When the truck slowed to make a right turn, he was unable to avoid running into the back of the trailer and was thrown from the motorcycle, Sloat said.
Since motorcycle crashes often end in serious injuries, victims need immediate help
Motorcycle accidents are more likely to end in serious injuries or death for the motorcyclist, since the rider is not protected from the force of a collision. When a motorcycle accident happens, the injured rider needs immediate, appropriate medical care, the accident needs to be investigated, and the insurance companies need to be informed.
When a motorcycle crash is caused by negligence, additional steps need to be taken to protect the legal rights of the injured motorcyclist or the family members of someone killed in a motorcycle crash. Go here to learn more about motorcycle accidents and claims.
