Vehicle crash ignites brush fire in Ventura County

Firefighters are battling a brush fire ignited by a vehicle accident on the State Route 118 freeway in the Simi Valley area of southeastern Ventura County. The fire erupted before dawn Friday after a vehicle reportedly went off the freeway and down an embankment. Firefighters from Ventura and Los Angeles counties have responded, and helicopter water drops are underway.
