Coroner identifies 5 women who died in crash near Salton Sea

"Very distraught and very upset. You know, it's been very hard for all of us in the park because we're all a close knit family here," Ruitenbach said.
At around 10:30am, 6 elderly women were in a van on their way to a luncheon when they came to a stop sign. The driver, Deanna Anderson, properly stopped at the stop sign, but did not properly yield to cross-traffic, and the van was hit by a pickup truck. Five of the six women in the van were killed, and another unidentified woman was injured, while four who were in the pickup truck sustained minor injuries.
