Driver who fled scene of 3-car crash that injured 7 arrested in Colorado Springs
Police arrested 23-year-old Daniel Aaron Simpson just before 1:30 p.m. in the 4800 block of Escapardo Way near Oro Blanco Drive.
Simpson fled the accident scene on foot when the crash first happened around 2:30 a.m. He is charged with vehicular assault and leaving the scene of an accident, among other charges, according to authorities.
Police say three cars were involved. An investigation revealed a dark-colored Ford pickup truck was speeding eastbound on Constitution when it ran a red light and hit a white Volkswagen traveling southbound on Academy.
