Pilot dies in small plane crash north of Trinidad
The investigation of the accident has been turned over to the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board, Navarette said.

A single-engine propeller plane went down a few miles north of the Las Animas County Fairgrounds in Trinidad at about 1 p.m. Thursday. The pilot was the only person on boad, and he was dead at the scene. We'll update this post as more information becomes available.
