One person was killed and another injured in a crash early Sunday morning in Aurora.

A Scion was headed south on Mission Parkway at about 5 a.m. when it hit the tree, according to the Aurora Police Department. That's just southwest of South Buckley Road and East Hampden Avenue.

“Investigation thus far reveals a late model Scion was traveling south on Mission Parkway and collided with a tree,” Elliot said in a statement.

A little before 5 a.m., a late model Scion that was traveling south on Mission Parkway left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver died at the scene. The passenger was transported to a local hospital, and is expected to survive. Police say speed and alcohol might be contributing factors to this crash.
