1 killed, 2 injured in early morning crash north of Boulder Reservoir

One person is dead and two hospitalized following a single vehicle accident near 55th Street and Monarch Road north of Boulder Reservoir this morning. Boulder County sheriff's Cmdr. The Boulder County Sheriff's Office and the Colorado State Patrol remain at the scene. Heidi Prentup said preliminary investigation revealed that a single vehicle appears to have gone off the road and crashed into a tree, then caught fire. Police have not released the identities of the three people or whether the person killed was a man or a woman.

A man killed in a single vehicle crash near Boulder Reservoir last week was identified by a gofundme page set up to cover funeral expenses as Robert Eugene Padilla of Lafayette. The Boulder County Coroner's Office hasn't released the identity, citing issues with the condition of the body.
