The Colorado State Patrol says it is investigating a single-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 70 near Deer Trail that killed the driver of a semi truck Wednesday morning.

The driver of a semi was killed in a rollover accident on I-70 near Deer Trail Wednesday morning, prompting an investigation that closed the interstate in eastern Colorado for much of the morning.

The Colorado State Patrol confirmed the single-vehicle accident took place near mile marker 323, which is about five miles from Deer Trail, around 5 a.m. on Wednesday.

Traffic on the interstate was completely shut down as of 9 a.m., as crews worked to repair a bridge that was damaged by the crash
