Police have confirmed that one person was killed in a single car accident on Interstate 70 through Glenwood on Friday morning.

According to Wilson, it was traveling westbound before it crossed the median and 3 lanes of eastbound I-70, glanced off of concrete abutment for the Devereux Road overpass, hit a tree, and came to rest upside down on the shoulder.
John Hutchings, 72, of Pioche, Nevada, was driving an SUV with a utilit trailer on Interstate 70 when for unknown reasons he crossed the median and three lanes of eastbound I-70, hit a tree, and came to rest on the shoulder of the road. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time. He died at the scene.
