Alcohol Suspected In Fatal Motorcycle Crash That Shut Down I-70 Near IdahoSprings

Alcohol may be a factor in a deadly crash that shut down part of Interstate 70 Saturday evening. According to the Colorado State Patrol, a 35-year-old woman was killed and two other people were injured when their motorcycles collided near Idaho Springs. Apparently the bikers tried to pass a vehicle on either side and then slammed into each other when merging back into their lane.

Michelle Gunn, of Kittredge, died in the afternoon wreck The Colorado State Patrol has identified a 45-year-old Jefferson County woman killed Saturday when a pair of motorcyclists collided on Interstate 70 near Idaho Springs. The motorcyclists were headed east in the center lane of the road when they passed a slower moving vehicle, the State Patrol said. One of the bikes passed the vehicle on the left, and the other on the right. A 47-year-old rider suffered serious injuries, and a 46-year-old rider had moderate injuries.
