Man killed in wrong-way crash on Interstate 95 in Branford

Police say a 69-year-old New Haven man was killed when the minivan he was driving the wrong direction on Interstate 95 crashed head-on into pickup truck in Branford.
For reasons unknown, Peter Hall, 69, was driving a minivan south in the northbound lanes of I-95 at about 3:30 a.m., when he collided with a pickup truck driven by 43-year-old Hopeton Kerr. Hall was pronounced dead after the crash, while a passenger in Kerr's vehicle, identified as Frank Poppa, 45, sustained serious injuries. Kerr himself had only minor injuries.
