Nelson Thibeault, 56, dead in collision with tree that caused car to burst into flames on Stafford Street in Bristol, CT

At about 6:30pm, Thibeault was driving on Stafford Street when he veered into a nearby tree, which caused his car to immediately catch fire and made it virtually impossible for bystanders to get near the vehicle to rescue him. He died from smoke inhalation before any help could get to him and was thus pronounced dead at the scene as soon as the fires were extinguished.
