Troopers from an accident reconstruction team and from the Troop D barracks in the Danielson section of Killingly are investigating.
Gersh was walking just outside of her own home on Water Street at about 6:28pm when she was hit by a car driven by Melinda Paulsen, 65. The crash severley injured Gersh, and she was pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital. Excessive snow on and around the roadways is being considered as a possible contributor.
