According to police, the third car involved, a 2016 Toyota Tundra, had been reported stolen earlier in the day from New Britain. The driver of that stolen car, described as a Hispanic man, fled the scene of the accident on foot.

Police said the pickup had been reported stolen out of New Britain. Investigators believe the suspect is a teenager, based on a recent pattern of car thefts in the area.

oseph Barreto, of Exeter Street, Hartford, was charged with second-degree manslaughter in connection with the Feb. 19 crash at the intersection of Zion and Ward streets in the city’s Frog Hollow neighborhood, police said.
