Air bags did not deploy in crash that killed 2 Southington teens

Grief counselors continue to be on hand at Southington High School Friday for anyone that needs them.
A wreck killed two Southington teens Tuesday afternoon, and it is reported that the car’s air bags never went off. 16-year-old Annie Olender was driving a 2006 Hyundai Accent when it traveled down an embankment on Interstate 84 just before 3:00 p.m. Both Olender and her 14-year-old passenger, Olivia Fusco, died at the crash site. Police said Olender was driving with only a learner’s permit. The cause of the wreck is under investigation. Grief counselors continue to be on hand at Southington High School Friday for anyone that needs them.
