School bus driver tests negative for drugs and alcohol after crashing into a tree in Wolcott, injuring three special needs students and a bus monitor.

No Signs of Drugs, Alcohol or Fatigue in Wolcott School Bus Crash: Police

Five people were on the bus, including the driver, a monitor and students in sixth, seventh and eighth grade. The monitor and one student were seriously injured and the two other students were also hurt, so all four were rushed to the hospital. The bus driver wasn't hurt.

“It definitely looked like a scene from the movies,” Santropietro said. “I have never seen anything like it. I just kept thinking I’ve got to get the blood stopped.”
A school bus was transporting special needs students to Tyrell Middle School and was driving on Todd Road when the driver swerved and hit a tree. A bus monitor and three students were injured. One student was airlifted to Connecticut Children's Hospital in serious condition, and is now reported stable. The bus driver, identified as Mark Hudobenko, tested negative for drugs and alcohol.
