Man dies after being struck by train in Bridgeport

Officials with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority say a man struck and killed by a Metro-North train in Bridgeport was trespassing on the tracks. Authorities say a northbound train to New Haven hit the man just after 7:30 p.m. Saturday, just past the Fairfield station.
The accident caused delays of up to 40 minutes on the commuter railroad as dozens of passengers were transferred to another train. MTA police are investigating why the man was on the tracks.
