Two people were killed Saturday in a crash in which one of the vehicles was traveling the wrong direction on the roadway, D.C. police said.
Two people were killed Saturday in a crash in which one of the vehicles was traveling the wrong direction on the roadway, D.C. police said. A driver traveling southbound in the northbound lane Kenilworth Avenue NE struck two other vehicles before hitting a wall, said a police spokesman. One occupant of the striking vehicle and one occupant of one of the vehicles struck were killed, he said, and a passenger in the wrong-way vehicle was taken to a hospital. The incident took place around 5 p.m. in the 1000 block of Kenilworth, an area where the avenue straddles the Anacostia Freeway. Police did not release further information on the victims or type of vehicles involved. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
