2 pedestrians struck & injured at foot of Memorial Bridge in D.C., traffic snarled

U.S. Park Police said 2 pedestrians were struck by a car at the foot of the D.C. side of the Memorial Bridge, which connects to Virginia. The bridge was shut down in both directions.
At around 3:15 p.m., 2 pedestrians were struck by a car at the foot of the D.C. side of the Memorial Bridge. The bridge was closed in both directions during the investigation. Police did not have any details about the circumstances leading to the accident. One pedestrian was flown to an area hospital for treatment of a serious head injury. The other victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
