Public's help needed in solving fatal motorcycle crash

"We know what occurred that day. We know who was operating the vehicle. We know where the vehicle was at, and we know how that vehicle got fixed – and we want to make charges in this case."

But for that to happen, troopers are going to need a little more proof from people in the know to help put the man responsible for killing Robert Colantonio behind bars.

Florida Highway Patrol is asking for the public's help to locate the driver of a car that crashed into a motorcyclist Saturday night at around 6 o'clock in the southbound lanes of I-75 in Bonita Springs, approximately one mile south of the Bonita Beach Road exit. Robert Colantonio, 49, of Naples, died after he was hit by a car that was trying to switch lanes. Troopers believe the car is either a "silver, gold, or dark" colored sedan with major front-end damage. Investigators are asking anyone with information on the collision to contact FHP. Robert leaves behind a wife and three children ages 18, 17 and 11.
