A Florida pilot is lucky to be alive after a bird crashes into the front window of his aircraft, causing the glass to shatter.

And, it was all captured on video.

Rob Weber, an experienced pilot of 11 years, was flying 170 miles per hour near Page Field Airport in Fort Myers, Fla. when a bird crashed into the window of his single-engine plane.

Glass and blood were everywhere and wind whipped through the cockpit as Weber radioed air traffic control for help.

"You're sitting there waiting for a bird to come in. Never did see him. All of the sudden the window just explodes. I don't know if he was diving or what happened when I got him," Weber said.

Weber suffered a cut to the forehead, but he was able to land the airplane safely.
