Teen bicyclist injured in Westside Jacksonville postal truck accident

A 16-year-old bicyclist was seriously injured early Thursday when he was hit by a truck on Blanding Boulevard in Jacksonville, according to the Florida Highway patrol. Ganaliel Guzman was riding west across Blanding Boulevard at 118th Street at 4:40 a.m. when a U.S. Postal Service truck hit him, the Highway Patrol said. The truck, headed south on Blanding Boulevard, had a green light when the bicyclist failed to yield to oncoming traffic, the Highway Patrol said. He hit his brakes and swerved to the right, but was unable to avoid hitting him. the Highway Patrol said.
